Doug has been involved with auto dealerships for twenty years and has worked with almost every aspect of the service department, including auto repair, service writing, warranty procedure and coding of warranty claims.

He has trained technical personnel and taught proper procedure for repair of automobiles. He was directly involved with the important start up of AUDI North Scottsdale’s new service department in June of 2002. This included ordering tools, arranging the shop and equipment, PC set up, work station arrangement as well as the over all set up.  This work has resulted in a very efficient and profitable service department.  In May of 2005 Doug was selected to help start up the new WYNN/PENSKE Ferrari Maserati dealership in Las Vegas. Various duties included setting up procedures for

repair and setting up tool and shop equipment. Doug was also selected by UAG West to set up, engineer, build and test a Spec MINI Cooper in anticipation of a local MINI Cooper race series by BMW/MINI North Scottsdale.  The first of fourteen cars was delivered in early fall of 2002 with the rest through May 2005.  The race series has evolved into a very popular venue with the local and regional clubs. Doug was the active team manager, crew chief and also co-drove the company race car.

 

OTHER PRIOR AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

 

Worked for Scottsdale Ferrari for two years on the Modena Racing team as car chief and lead technician, under the crew chief running a five car team in 2000 and 2001. These cars ran in the Worldwide Ferrari Challenge Series culminating in the championship in Italy. Doug headed this Italian trip each year.

Worked for AVsport professional rally team for two years as crew chief and gearbox and electrical technician. His work resulted in David Higgins capturing the SCCA 2002 Open Class drivers title, defeating all three ( Subaru, Mitsubishi and Hyundai) factory efforts.  The following year brought Shane Mitchell the SCCA Group N championship.

Worked for Techsport Racing as the lead technician on the Ford Focus factory supported SCCA Touring Car series. Full season in 2004 and partial season in 2005 and now continues to prepare, overhaul and repair all gearboxes.

Worked for Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning racing as a technician and equipment manager for the LeMans Porsche factory supported effort  resulting in first place in GT with a Porsche RSR in the 24 hours of LeMans in France.

Doug is currently campaigning a race effort in the California Rally Series CRS in a full national spec Subaru Open class WRX STI. He is the driver and does all the mechanical preparation on the car while supervising his crew.
